The journey to exceptional decaf coffee starts with sustainably sourcing quality coffee beans from great coffee farmers. Our Swiss Water Decaf Coffee has been selectively sourced from Brazilian coffee farmers. We take the care to ensure that the coffee farmers are paid a good price for their great coffee. We go above and beyond what many other roasteries and coffee brands do.

The Decaffeination Process

Soon after the coffee beans are harvested, the Swiss Water process begins. The coffee beans are carefully processed using the Swiss Water process. The process is 100% chemical-free and uses a terrific trio of water, temperature, and time. This gently extracts caffeine from the coffee beans while preserving the coffee’s flavour notes and profile.

This is in stark contrast to many other decaffeination processes which make use of chemicals such as Methylene Chloride, or Ethyl Acetate, which is sometimes described as ‘natural’ decaffeination. These methods of decaffeination also change the flavour of the coffee. They can also add an unwanted fruity base to the flavour profile.

Finally, the magic happens at our Hampshire roastery. The Peaberry team expertly small batch roast the Swiss Water Decaf using our tried and tested roasting methods.
